The 40 Developmental Assets framework, a functional tool employed by the facilitators at Sadhbhavana, was developed through extensive research by the Search Institute, Minneapolis. The research mainly succeeded in charting out what kids need to succeed in their life from childhood into adulthood. The Developmental Assets are classified into three groups – Developmental Assets in Early Childhood, Developmental Assets in Middle Childhood and Developmental Assets for Adolescents. Each of these categories has 40 points that when instilled in a child would make him or her adept to face the challenges of the world. Teachers are specially trained to understand and inculcate these assets into the daily learning pattern of the students.
At Sadhbhavana, students complete a presentation on the 40 Developmental Assets given to him/her at the start of every academic year. At the end of schooling, a compilation of these presentations provides them with a comprehensive growth trajectory in terms of the 40 Developmental Assets.
